Kathy D. Browder, PhDKathy D. Browder serves as the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs at Augusta University.  As Associate Provost, she leads and manages the planning, development, and ongoing implementation of a comprehensive and integrated institution-wide strategy for faculty success and excellence at Augusta University. Prior to assuming this role, Dr. Browder served as the Vice President for Academic and Faculty Affairs, where she was responsible for oversight of academic programming planning, faculty affairs, student success, the Registrar’s Office, Academic Advising, the Academic Success Center, First and Second Year Experiences, and Career Services.  

Dr. Browder came to Augusta University from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she served as Senior Associate Dean and Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs in the College of Health and Human Services.  Prior to her appointment there, she served as Division Director/Department Chair for the Department of Movement Sciences and Associate Dean in the College of Education at the University of Idaho. 

Dr. Browder earned her BA in Adult Fitness at Furman University, her MS in Physical Education (exercise physiology) from the University of Tennessee, and her PhD in Kinesiology (biomechanics) from Texas Women’s University.  She has held academic appointments at East Tennessee State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia Southern University and Bowling Green State University. In her spare time, Dr. Browder enjoys reading, cycling, hiking, and spending time on the lake.

Carolyn B. Cannon

Ms. Cannon is the Office Manager for the Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs.  She has been employed by Augusta University for over 25 years, having worked in the offices of Human Resources and Political Science before coming to the Office of Faculty Affairs in 1996.   She attended Georgia Southern University and is scheduled to graduate from Augusta University in May 2020.  She believes in lifelong learning and is eager to explore future educational opportunities.

An active member of the AU Community, Ms. Cannon has served several terms and offices on the university’s Staff Council, in addition to having served on various other campus committees.  She enjoys participating in many campus activities and is an avid Jaguar sports fan. 

She previously worked for E-Z-Go Textron, the National Science Center Foundation, and as a real estate agent. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading and writing.

Sharmen D Tutt fa
 Sharmen D. Tutt has been with Augusta University for 5 years.  Ms. Tutt currently serves as an Administrative Assistant for the Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs. Ms. Tutt has worked in the following areas: the Cancer Research Center, Academic and Strategic Initiatives and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Ms. Tutt attended Tennessee State University and is currently enrolled at Fort Valley State University, pursuing a degree in Organizational Management.  When time permits Sharmen likes to read, create abstract art and spend time with her family.
