Khadejah Bates
Khadejah was born and raised in Augusta, GA, and is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at Georgia State University. She has proudly served Augusta University for over five years in the Pamplin College Dean’s Office under Dr. Kim Davies.
A devoted mother of three, Khadejah enjoys connecting with others and is always eager to offer support and build meaningful relationships within the university community.

Laura Evans
Laura Evans is the University’s Marketing Strategist in the Communications & Marketing department. Now in her third year on Staff Council, she has served as Chair of the Events Committee for the past two years. Laura has been with AU for nearly six years, though she’s been part of the campus community her entire life—often tagging along with her mother, a longtime Art & Design faculty member who taught at AU for 40 years before retiring in 2021.
Before joining the Communications & Marketing team in 2023, Laura served as the Communications Strategist for the College of Nursing for nearly four years. In addition to her work with Staff Council, she is a member of the ENGAGE AU committee, helping bring expert panel discussions to campus several times each year.
Beyond AU, Laura serves on the Greater Augusta Arts Council’s Public Art Advisory Panel and stays active at her son’s school as a room mom. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from AU’s Hull College of Business—Go Jags! Laura lives in Augusta with her husband, Daniel; their son, Marshall; and their beloved old pup, RedDawg.

Meg Silvery
Margaret (Meg) Silvery is a Business Operations Specialist within the Statewide AHEC Department, where she serves as the financial officer and HR contact, overseeing grants, contracts, purchasing, invoicing, and accounting for all budgets. Meg has been with Augusta University for almost 12 years and is currently seeking her BA in Healthcare Administration to continue her growth within Augusta University. Meg was born and raised in North Augusta, SC, and has remained in the local area. Outside of work, Meg enjoys spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Amanda Zabala
I’ve been with Augusta University for eleven years, with the past six dedicated to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently, I serve as the Fellowship Program Coordinator for Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
In this role, I manage the administrative and operational aspects of three subspecialty training programs. From recruitment and onboarding to curriculum coordination and accreditation compliance, I work closely with fellows, faculty, and institutional leadership to ensure each program runs smoothly and supports educational excellence.
With a focus on efficiency, collaboration, and communication, I’m passionate about utilizing systems that allow both learners and educators to succeed. I take pride in supporting the next generation of women’s health specialists and contributing to the broader mission of medical education.
I value the relationships I’ve built across departments and enjoy working with colleagues to strengthen our academic community and enhance the experience for staff, faculty, and trainees alike.

Stephanie Campbell

Vicky Reynolds
Vicky Reynolds has been a dedicated member of the Augusta University community for 28 years. A graduate from the Academy of Richmond County and Augusta Technical College. She currently serves as the Procurement, Audit and Compliance Specialist in Supply Management and is the Chair of the Awards Committee on the Staff Council. In addition, she is a Notary Public and holds GCPCA certification with the State of Georgia. Throughout her tenure at Augusta University she has witnessed three name changes, worked under six presidents and transitioned through five roles, all within the finance sector. Vicky took on an essential role at the Clay Street Warehouse during the COVID-19 Shutdown, assisting with receiving, delivering, and with the annual equipment inventory.
Outside of work Vicky enjoys spending time with her son, Tanner, boyfriend Don, and her parrot. In her free time, she loves attending classic car shows, participating in water aerobics, golf and pickleball.

Nakia Walden
Nakia has worked at the university for over 15 years. She is known for her initiative and ability to go above and beyond. Nakia has a passion for helping others in any capacity. She has a wealth of experience in business operations, human resources and onboarding, and event management. Lastly, she is known for her compassion, resiliency, and persistence to accomplish any goal despite any challenges she faces.
