Augusta University offers many extra curricular activities tailored for Social Sciences students!
While students majoring and minoring in specific majors who meet specific requirements are invited to join the department sponsored honor societies, the discipline clubs are open to all students. Students interested in helping others and learning about careers in political science, criminal justice, sociology, social work are welcome to join our student-led student clubs. The clubs partake in a number of service projects and have been known to take trips to Washington, D.C. and invite speakers of interest to campus.
Alpha Kappa Delta
The purpose of the Alpha Kappa Delta honor society is to promote scholarship, but the focus has always been fellowship for students, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Alpha Phi Sigma
Alpha Phi Sigma is the only National Criminal Justice Honor Society for Criminal Justice Majors. The society recognizes academic excellence of undergraduate, graduate students of criminal justice, as well as juris doctorate.
Criminal Justice Club
The club is comprised of like-minded individuals interested in criminal justice issues. These include career options, field trips, and job shadowing.
Mock Trial and Pre-Law Club
AU Mock Trial introduces students to challenging trial simulations in class and in inter-collegiate competition with the goals of developing critical thinking and public speaking skills as well as of developing more in-depth knowledge of legal practices and procedures.
Phi Alpha Honor Society
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideals.
Pi Sigma Alpha

Social Work Club
The Social Work Club is the BSW Program student organization acknowledged and funded by the Office of Student Life and Engagement at Augusta University. All students are eligible to join and pre-social work and social work major students are encouraged to meet other social work students by actively participating in the club meetings and activities.

The Internship and Fieldwork Programs are designed to allow students to receive academic credit for work experience. This work may be done in any of a variety of agencies or organizations. The internship experience should serve as a transition between the world of the classroom and the world of work.
The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Augusta University. Ambassadors are responsible for helping welcome prospective students and their families to campus, assisting with new student orientations, and volunteering to represent the College at various campus and outreach events.
The National Model United Nations (NMUN) program is designed to immerse Augusta University students in realistic simulations of the United Nations (UN).
