Personal Fitness Trainer Certification


This challenging course is for candidates wanting LIVE instruction with in-depth, hands-on practical labs to master the career skills & knowledge.  The best part of the course is the 15 hours of hands-on practical training labs. You will role play with assessing clients, programming, performing proper exercises, presentation skills and more.  Reading a book and testing does not get it done in the real world. A great NEW addition to our offering at your school is the Hybrid CPT option. You can register for it at the same tuition!!  The Hybrid version has all of the awesome lectures online with incredible veteran mentors/teachers working with you every step of the way. As a bonus, the practical labs are still offered LIVE so you can master the skills.   Do the lecture work online on your available schedule. Then join the LIVE class practical labs each week at their designated day and time.

You can work right after passing the CPT exams! You must be 18 years of age and have proof of CPR/AED to obtain your Level 1 Certified Personal Trainer. As a special bonus, you can take advantage of our 30 hour employer internship to get our advanced Level 2 Certified Personal Trainer credential at no additional cost!!

Completion Requirements

  • Students must pass both written and practical exams.
  • Attendance policy will be given out the first day of class.
  • Proof of Instructor-led, hands-on class format.
  • Adult CPR/AED certification is required. If a student is not yet certified, he or she can use the American Heart Association website to find a local CPR/AED class.
  • Students may complete a 30-hour internship to qualify for Personal Trainer Level 2.
  • All requirements must be completed within 12 months of the original course start date.
  • Required textbook: 7th edition of the Fitness Professional’s Handbook with web resources (ISBN-13: 9781492523376)

The renewal period is based on the original course completion dates.
