Surgical Research - Institutional Review Board
The Augusta University Human Assurance Committee meets monthly to review all proposed research protocols to be conducted by faculty
and staff of the Georgia Health Sciences University or the Charlie Norwood Department
of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. The committee's composition meets the standards
set forth in the Federal Register.
The Committee on Animal Use for Research and Education (CAURE) oversees the institution's animal program, facilities and procedures. All proposed
utilization of animals in teaching, research or testing on the GHSU campus is reviewed
as required by Public Health Service Policy. Two full time veterinarians are available
to support all animal studies.
