My name is Robert Scott Smith, and I am a Family Nurse Practitioner in the section of Internal medicine at Well star MCG in Augusta Georgia. I graduated in December 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Augusta College. I went on to work for a local Plastics company as their raw materials analytical chemist before deciding to return to school to pursue a career in Nursing. I was accepted to Augusta State University’s ADN program in 1996, and I graduated in June 1998 after which I went to work at the Medical college of Georgia in Adult oncology/BMT. After completing one year of work as a Registered Nurse, I returned to nursing school at the Medical College of Georgia to obtain my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, graduating in May 2000. I continued my education in pursuit of a Graduate degree at the University of Alabama Birmingham where I graduated with my Family Nurse Practitioner-C in May 2010. I am nationally certified through the AANP. I have worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner for fourteen years, of which seven years were in Nephrology/Renal transplant and the remaining seven years have been in Internal medicine.
