Kenneth J. Vega, M.D., FACP, AGAF
Professor & Division Chief Co-Director, Digestive Health Center
Dr. Vega is an expert in gastroesophageal reflux disease and ethnic/gender variations
in Barrett's esophagus. His clinical expertise includes treatment of all manifestations
of gastroesophageal reflux disease including Barrett's esophagus, esophageal motor
disorders, peptic ulcer disease, and colonoscopy for colon cancer screening. Dr. Vega's
research interests are focused on gastrointestinal reflux disease, Barrett's esophagus,
esophageal stem cells, esophageal motility, and epidemiology of gastrointestinal cancers
along with ethnic/gender disparities in gastrointestinal diseases, treatment and outcome.

Dr. Little is a Gastroenterologist and also the Chief of GA at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center. He joined the division of Gastroenterology in September, 2015. Dr. Little came to our division most recently from local private practice where he specialized in Gastroenterology since September, 2001.

Humberto Sifuentes, M.D. joined our section in July 2014 after completing his Gastroenterology/Hepatology fellowship with us at the Medical College of Georgia/ Augusta University. Dr. Sifuentes specializes in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), GI Bleeding, Constipation and Gastroparesis.

Charles L. Spurr, MD, brings a vast repository of knowledge and experience on the efficient management of common gastroenterological and hepatological problems in the community and on how to establish a GI practice. He serves full time at the local VA Hospital.
