The MCG Office for Faculty Success serves faculty and the academic/clinical departments in which they reside.
Our purpose is to foster a culture of faculty success through faculty and departmental consultation, assessment, development, education, and evaluation germane to faculty mentorship, career development, and retention.
Mentoring is a critical piece for the success of faculty in academic medicine. According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, mentoring is associated with job satisfaction, productivity, retention, and increased sense of "fit" with one's institution.
The Office for Faculty Success operates on the premise that faculty will have the greatest satisfaction and returns on their careers when they feel ownership over them.
Diverse, capable, engaged faculty are our most valuable resource in academic medicine.
MCG recognizes the importance and value of mentorship in academic medicine.
The goals of the MCG Office for Faculty Success are to:
Oversee, promote, and build mentoring resources and capacity
Foster meaningful career development for faculty at all stages of their careers
Support and expand promotion and retention efforts critical to ensuring a diverse, skilled and engaged MCG faculty
We have a tripartite mission committed to:
