MCG Office of Faculty Affairs & Success (MCG OFAS) is an administrative function supported by the Dean’s Office to enhance the effectiveness and success of each MCG faculty member by serving faculty and the academic/clinical departments in which they reside.

Our Mission
Our mission is to oversee, promote, and build an intentional and integrated approach to supporting faculty needs across career stages, appointment types, and faculty roles, ensuring that all faculty have access and opportunity in their pursuit of excellence and advancement.
Our Goals
- Oversee, promote, and build mentoring resources and capacity
- Foster meaningful career development for faculty at all stages of their careers
- Support and expand promotion and retention efforts critical to ensuring a diverse, skilled and engaged MCG faculty
Our History
We were founded in July 2018 under the leadership of Dean David Hess, Dr. Vaughn McCall, retired Executive Vice Dean and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, and Dr. Lara Stepleman, the inaugural Director for Faculty Success and current Associate Dean for the MCG Office of Faculty Affairs and Success.
As of September 1, 2024, The MCG Office of Faculty Affairs & Office of Faculty Success merged to become the MCG Office of Faculty Affairs and Success.

MCG Office of Faculty Affairs & Success (OFAS) in no way replaces departmental specific efforts geared to the same purpose—OFAS simply enhances what departments are already doing and provides some degree of uniformity and serves as a back stop for faculty needs.
