As a health care safety net, this FQHC provides cost-effective primary & preventive care services, including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics & Adolescent Care, Women’s Health, Dental, & Behavioral Health.
MedLink Health Systems also connects patients to social services, such as food or housing assistance, and enabling services that help them access resources, such as transportation or language translation. These factors, combined with the ability to address multiple health needs under one roof, help to improve health outcomes for patients and the communities that are served.

In 2023, MedLink Georgia was awarded Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) badges for Advancing HIT, Access Enhancer, Health Disparities Reducer, Addressing Social Risk Factors, and Health Center Quality Leader. MedLink Georgia, as a private non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center, is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The NCQA PCMH recognition indicates promotion of high-quality care standards using systematic quality assessment and improvement measures of its patient-centered, coordinated, team-based care practice with patient engagement to support access to services and facilitate better health outcomes.
MedLink Georgia is home to North Georgia Advanced Practice Program (NoGAPP)-- the only residency program for Nurse Practitioners in the state of Georgia. NoGAPP Residency is a one-year residency that provides new family nurse practitioners (FNPs) with a structured clinical experience to enhance the transition into practice. The program is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and led by MedLink Georgia and Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing with Versant providing online technology to help nurses transition into their role as an FNP. The vision is to develop a sustainable source of dedicated, highly qualified nurse practitioners ready to meet the unique challenges of practicing in a Federally Qualified Health Center that is motivated by clinical excellence and the desire for continuous improvement in healthcare access and delivery. This year, MedLink Georgia received a three-year accreditation from the National Nurse Practitioner Residency and Fellowship Training Program. MedLink also expanded the program by partnering with Community Health Care Systems, Inc., and East Georgia Healthcare Center.
MedLink Georgia offers preceptorship programs where medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals shadow experienced providers to gain practical clinical experience and mentorship.
Students at MedLink Georgia have opportunities for collaborative learning through case discussions, peer review sessions, and interdisciplinary team meetings where they can share experiences, discuss challenging cases, and learn from each other.
Students engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and outcomes. These initiatives often involve analyzing clinical data, implementing evidence-based practices, and monitoring performance metrics.
Students receive specialized training in areas such as chronic disease management, behavioral health integration, telemedicine, cultural competence, and healthcare disparities to better serve the diverse needs of their patient population.

MedLink Health Systems has a history of Medical College of Georgia (MCG) student education support and involvement. Its multiple clinical platforms provide learning opportunities for a variety of required and elective clinical experiences for students as an MCG FQHC Educational Affiliate. These learning opportunities will be supervised by members of the FQHC’s physician staff who hold MCG Community Clinical Faculty appointments and facilitated by others in their interprofessional team of clinical providers.
