Holiday Eating: Tips to Manage along your Cancer Journey

Turkey on a food tableIt’s in our faces all the time during the holidays: food. And not just any food. Whether it’s your grandmother’s proud hummingbird cake, your husband’s specially brined and deep-fried turkey or your aunt’s rich chocolate bourbon pecan pie, the holidays serve up decadent treats guaranteed to make our bellies happy – until it’s time to zip up that waistband come January. It can also be difficult for a cancer patient undergoing treatment and facing side effects like taste changes or poor appetite to be surrounded by all this food and feel like they can’t enjoy it. So, let’s talk about some ways to navigate the holidays when you are feeling well and when you are feeling unwell.
