Top Things for Students to Know
For everyone’s safety and wellbeing, students are encouraged to follow these guidelines, which have been updated based on guidance released in August 2021.
Masks are encouraged, but not required for faculty or students except in clinical spaces such as Augusta University Medical Center, College of Nursing’s Nurse-Managed Health Center or the Dental College of Georgia clinics. Vaccines are encouraged but not required.
While masks/face coverings are not required on campus, they must be worn while using public transportation, including university shuttles.
While the vaccine is not required, it is encouraged. AU Health continues to offer vaccination clinics for Augusta University and AU Health students, faculty and staff.
Note: Students who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 are not required to quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated against the disease and show no symptoms.
Fully vaccinated individuals can resume classes and other activities without physically distancing. Unvaccinated individuals are strongly encouraged to get a vaccine and to continue socially distancing from others when possible.
Augusta University will return to full capacity in the classroom for fall 2021.
All students are expected to return to their traditional educational arrangement beginning fall 2021 semester.
Lack of vaccination is not grounds for a request for an accommodation.

As we prepare for a new semester, please review your course schedule for the following terminology:
Students need to check POUNCE and D2L regularly for updates about your classes from your faculty, and should review both platforms before classes start.
Students should assume classes will be taught face-to-face unless indicated otherwise in POUNCE. See the Notes section in POUNCE for whether the course is hybrid or online.
