Echo360 FAqs

  • Echo360 is a lecture capture system, which allows the recording of lectures, meetings, speeches, and other events. It allows you to pull in recordings of your desktop, audio and video and displays these in an easy-to-use interface for your students.  Furthermore, sharing with students is easy with our Echo360 integration in Brightspace LMS.

  • Yes, as long as you have access to an internal or USB microphone and Echo360's Universal Personal Capture software.   Optionally, you may also include presenter video from your webcam.  Recording and publishing is all handled with the Universal Capture software.  For tips on how to download and use this software, please see our helpful Universal Capture Quick Start Guide.

There are several ways to share content from Echo360, including sharing internal or public links and linking to content directly from your course in Brightspace LMS. Please see our knowledge article for multiple methods with steps on how to accomplish them.

In an effort to improve accessibility of our Echo360 captures, we have activated a new service in the Echo360 platform, known as ASR - Automated Speech Recognition.  ASR uses machine learning, the same that powers Amazon's Alexa, to generate a transcript for your content automatically, as long as it is

  • less than four (4) hours in duration
  • published to a course in Echo360

Please see the below video for more information, and a quick demo detailing the ASR feature in Echo360.

Echo360 is working on an in-line transcript editing service which will make it even easier to edit your Echo360 transcripts as well as applying your transcripts to captions.  Until they release this feature, you can edit transcripts by downloading them and editing with a text editor.  Please see our how-to  instructions on how to edit transcripts and apply them to your captures in Echo360.
