Do you know a colleague who goes above and beyond? Has this individual achieved excellence in their field or made significant, observable changes or accomplishments? Has their work benefited the people or processes of Augusta University? We want to know who these people are and celebrate them! It is achievements and effects of this kind and scale that deserve an award. The CIO Employee Advisory Committee wants to recognize our staff for their hard work and achievements. This can only be accomplished with your help. Please take the time to review the awards and their descriptions below.

Notes to read prior to voting.
You are able to vote for anyone in IT, with the following guidelines:

  • Leadership awards are for directors and above
  • Management awards are for managers and associate directors
  • All other awards are for those in non-management roles. Although there is only one entry for each of the non-management awards, there will be multiple recipients for the top nominated employees.

Award Categories and Descriptions:

The Pinnacle Award
The Pinnacle Award is for overall excellence. This award recognizes one outstanding staff member whose determination and dedication to success throughout the year have made a significant positive impact, not only within IT but also on Augusta University. "The pinnacle of success is not reached in a single leap but a series of determined steps."

The Unsung Hero Award
The Unsung Hero Award is to recognize an extraordinary individual whose work goes on "behind the scenes." This award is designed to shine a light on the often unnoticed but never underappreciated work that keeps IT going! "In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. In this life of illusion and quasi-illusion, the person of solid virtues who can be admired for something more substantial than his well-knownness often proves to be the unsung hero."

The Leadership Impact Award
Note: The nominees for this award should be a part of the AU IT Leadership Team.
The Leadership Impact Award is designed to recognize a leader whose actions inspire others to "dream more, learn more, do more, and become more."

The Emerging Leader Award
Note: The nominees for this award should be a part of the AU IT Leadership Team.
The Emerging Leader Award is designed to recognize an emerging leader whose actions show they are embracing the possibilities of their potential.

The Management Excellence Award
Note: The nominees for this award should be a part of the AU IT Management Team.
The Management Excellence Award is designed to recognize a manager who exemplifies all of the traits that make up a great manager, most noticeably the ability to motivate an entire group to strive towards meeting its goals and each individual to fulfill their potential.

The Emerging Manager Award
Note: The nominees for this award should be a part of the AU IT Management Team.
The Emerging Manager Award is designed to recognize a manager who has shown growth in confidence and ability. "Confidence is a plant of slow growth, but from its flowers, a leader emerges."

The Beyond the Call of Duty Award
The top three nominees will receive the "Beyond the Call of Duty" Award for recognizing their exceptional personal integrity, hard work & unwavering determination to AU IT. This award is designed to identify individuals who have gone above and beyond this past year.

The Platinum Service Award
"Service is the lifeblood of any organization. Everything flows from it and is nourished by it. Customer service is not a department...it's an attitude." The top 5 nominees will receive the Platinum Service Award, designed to recognize success based on service to others.
