About the Program

Each summer, The Graduate School at Augusta University brings students from across the country to Augusta for a one-of-a-kind research opportunity.  The Summer Training and Research program (STAR) is a nine-week program designed to provide Biomedical Research experience to undergraduate students who have a genuine interest in Biomedical Research.

During the course of the nine-week program, STARs actively participate in a biomedical research project under the guidance of an Augusta University faculty member. In addition, STAR participants attend workshops, discussion groups and laboratory demonstrations that expose them to a broad range of biomedical research techniques, approaches and laboratory experiences available at Augusta University.
