Brand Usage

Broadcasting

Broadcasting media allows our stories to be told to a wider audience and on a national scale through streaming and televised content.  Whether it is graduation or an NCAA championship broadcasting and livestreaming our events provide a platform to highlight what makes Augusta University a place where our stories come to life.

Our institution is a leader in the field of broadcasting events providing a unique opportunity for our students to receive hands on experience producing directing and filming high-profile events.  We focus on high profile events for the university such as commencement and live athletic events.  We lead the Peach Belt conference in producing live athletic events and have hosted multiple championship tournaments.  We recently upgraded to a state-of-the-art production facility with network level capabilities. Our students receive a one-of-a-kind opportunity to participate and enhance their media skills in creating world-class video productions.

Events

Events should be submitted to the university calendar.

Events in the official university calendar are included in our Jagwire Events Weekly email, which goes out every Monday. Requests for photo and social media coverage of events are approved at the sole discretion of C&M. Preferential placement will be given to events with compelling photos and those that have broad impact across our campuses.

Internal Emails

Have a message that needs to reach a large number of people?

Messages from the president, provost and executive leadership to thecampus community can be edited and distributed by Communications & Marketing. For help, submit a communications request.

Messages intended for faculty, staff or students within a college or department may be sent at the dean or administrator’s discretion and are drafted and distributed through their respective college or department. For contacts in those offices or if you’re sending to external audiences, visit our email and newsletters help page.

Event information and administrative updates are publicized through the university’s calendar, weekly events email and Jagwire, our news and information website.

Jagwire

Communications & Marketing is the official spokesperson for the university and has overall accountability for news published or disseminated on behalf of the university.

Jagwire is the official newsroom of the university and its content is intended to appeal to the entire campus as well as external audiences. Web Services can assist with creating custom news feeds or unique news presentations for your website that will leverage web content from Jagwire and the university calendar.

Colleges and units within Augusta University are encouraged to leverage their own newsletters and social media to share news that is relevant to their audiences only. When evaluating the appropriate placement of news items from your unit, keep in mind the following distinctions:

What’s newsworthy for Jagwire?

  • Stories that have impact to the entire campus community
  • Align with the university’s top-tier priorities
  • Timely or “evergreen”
  • New or unusual
  • Human interest

 

Media

Submissions are vetted for newsworthiness, timeliness and impact. The release or publication of news items are at the sole discretion of our team of media professionals.

Media releases are selected that promote top-tier priorities.

Media and expert advisories, direct pitches, bylined articles and links to internal news briefs are preferred methods of securing media coverage.

Social Media

If you are creating or managing a page that relates in any way to Augusta University or Health System, please contact the marketing team at socialmedia@augusta.edu.

We encourage you to send content to socialmedia@augusta.edu rather than creating a new account. This allows the content to have maximum visibility and enhance our organization’s social media presence.

For business cards, printed letterhead, rack cards, brochures and other templates, please work with printing_services@augusta.edu.
