Campus Services Schedule - December 2020

Augusta University will be open and serving our students through the end of Fall semester.  Please see the list below for updates and announcements concerning Winter Break. 

Augusta University will be closed Thursday, December 24, 2020- Friday, December 25, 2020 and Friday, January 1, 2021. 
The following update includes office closures in addition to the dates listed above. 

Housing and Residence Life 

Residence Halls will close for undergraduate students on Friday, December 11, 2020 at noon.  Elm Hall and University Village will be accessible for students who are approved to remain during the break.  Access to these communities require an activated AU ID badge.  Students with 12-month contracts (Graduate and Professional students) are not required to leave the residence hall during the break.

 Residence Halls will reopen to all students on January 4, 2021 at noon. 

Shuttle Service

  • The Blue Route will go off-line December 8, 2020 and will return to service on January 7, 2021.  
  • Gold Route will go off-line December 11, 2020 and return to service on January 4, 2021.  
  • The last day of Sunday service for the Lot 69/70 will be December 6, 2020.  Service will resume on January 10, 2020.  
  • Silver, Green, and Lot 55 Express routes for AUMC employees will follow regular schedules.  
  • All shuttles will be out-of-service for university holidays December 24, 2020- December 25, 2020 and January 1, 2021. 


Campus Dining

  • Terrace Dining and Subway will follow regularly scheduled hours 
  • All other campus dining locations will be closed beginning 12/9/2020 and reopen 1/6/2021.  
  • The Open Paws Food Pantry is stocked and ready to serve students who may be experiencing food insecurity.  Please call the Dean of Students office at 706-737-1411 or submit an Open Paws Food Pantry Request.  Note:  The Dean of Students Office will be closed December 28, 2020- January 1, 2021.  Please submit the form and our team will respond to the need even if the office is closed. 

Safety

Augusta University Police Department is available 24/7 every day.  If you need assistance, please call (706) 721-2911. 

  • If you feel unsafe walking on campus after the shuttles have stopped running, you may call the Augusta University Police Department at (706) 721-2911 to request a safety escort. 
  • Download the RAVE Guardian safety app for safety information and to provide you with a direct connection to the Augusta University Police Department.

Parking

The Parking and Transportation Office will be closed December 28, 2020- December 31, 2021. 

Campus Recreation Center

Hours of operation for the month of December will be as follows: 

December 7 – 11Monday-Friday6am- 8pm 

December 14 – 18Monday-Friday6am- 3pm 

December 21 – 23Monday-Wednesday6am- 3pm 

 Campus Recreation will be closed each weekend (Saturday and Sunday) through Winter Break including 

  • December 12-13 
  • December 19-20 
  • December 26-27 
  • January 2-3 

Jaguar Student Activity Center (JSAC) 

The JSAC and the Office of Student Life and Engagement will be open with a reduced staff Monday, December 28, 2020- Thursday, December 31, 2020 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  

The JSAC will be closed each weekend (Saturday and Sunday) through Winter Break including 

  • December 12-13
  • December 19-20
  • December 26-27
  • January 2-3

RoarStore

The RoarStore (both locations including the Package Center) will be closed December 28, 2020- December 31, 2021.

Student Counseling and Psychological Services (SCAPS) 

  • SCAPS will be open in both offices (Summerville and Health Sciences campus) on December 21st.  
  • SCAPS will be open on the Health Sciences campus on December 22nd and 23rd (Summerville office closed). 
  • SCAPS will be open on the Summerville campus on December 28th, 29th and 30th (Health Sciences office closed).  
  • Both physical locations of SCAPS offices will be closed on December 31st and will re-open during regular hours on January 4th.  

Students can call SCAPS at 706-737-1471 to schedule an appointment or talk with an emergency counselor.  

 For afterhours emergencies, or for the days the University is closed, students can call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225 or use the myGCAL app to chat with a crisis counselor. 

Student Health Services

Student Health Services will be open 8am - 5pm through Wednesday, December 23, 2020.  The office will be closed Monday, December 28, 2020 - Thursday, December 31, 2020.  The office will reopen with regular operating hours on Monday, January 4, 2021.   

 Telehealth and in-person appointments are available by calling 706-721-3448.   

Testing and Disability Services 

Testing and Disability Services will remain open the week of December 21 and December 28, excluding the official University holidays of December 24-25 and January 1.
