Assistant Vice President for Institutional Data Strategy and Reporting
The Assistant Vice President for Data Strategy and Reporting (AVP), reporting to the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness, leads the areas of Institutional Reporting & Information, Data Governance, and Institutional Analytics. Serving as the institution's Chief Data Officer, the AVP collaborates with the President's Cabinet and academic, administrative, and campus committees to develop systematic reporting capabilities and information strategies that support data informed decision making.
The AVP oversees all institutional research activities, including external compliance reporting and the dissemination of information to support planning, policy development, and decision making. The role requires a strong understanding of national and international trends in higher education, data, and advanced analytics to help University leadership monitor progress toward strategic goals.
The AVP provides leadership for data governance in accordance with the University System of Georgia's Business Procedures Manual Section 12, working closely with the Deputy Chief Information Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and others. The position also facilitates access to data housed in the university's data warehouse, ensuring data integrity, supporting operational needs, monitoring key institutional indicators, and providing analysis and reporting aligned with institutional objectives.
The Institutional Accreditation Manager provides institutional oversight of processes and systems to ensure compliance with institutional and programmatic accreditation standards. This position collaborates with academic departments and programs, educational and administrative support units, campus committees, and other stakeholders to identify, develop, and document data and information that serve as evidence of compliance. The role manages report development, progress monitoring, and quality assurance processes that support ongoing accreditation compliance and continuous improvement. The Institutional Accreditation Manager oversees multiple facets of accreditation requirements review and coordinates with administrators, colleges, faculty, and staff across the institution.

The Data Governance Coordinator manages the oversight of the institutional data governance program. The scope of institutional data governance covers the Augusta University (AU) data domains, including Academic Affairs and Colleges, Enrollment and Student Affairs, External Relations, Finance and Administration, Philanthropy and Alumni, Research, and Strategic Partnerships. This position has institution-wide reach and impact, offering the opportunity to build relationships across a broad range of units. The Data Governance Coordinator collaborates with data stewards, data managers, data analysts, and other stakeholders to establish data standards, set data quality rules, and promote responsible data use across the institution. This role has knowledge of data regulatory requirements at both the state and federal levels, and promotes data literacy, ensuring AU stakeholders know what data means, know where to find data, and how data should and should not be used.
The Institutional Effectiveness Program Coordinator provides coordination for assigned programs within Institutional Effectiveness (accreditation, planning & assessment, project management, faculty credentialing), special projects, and other initiatives; for IE processes, communications, and resources; and for IE applications. Coordinates services and processes pertaining to planning and assessment, comprehensive program review, regional and specialized accreditation, project management, institutional research, change management, and process improvement.
