The James M. Hull College of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and offers the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree and the Master of Business Administration degree.

Students pursuing the BBA degree may choose to major in Accounting or choose a concentration in one of several areas: Applied Economic Analysis, Digital Marketing, Financial Services, or Healthcare Management. Students may also choose a unique group of six business electives in lieu of a concentration to “customize” their BBA for a specific job or industry, with input from their academic advisor and program faculty. Additionally, the college offers a minor in Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics, as well as an undergraduate certificate in Hospitality Administration.

The Hull College of Business provides a high-quality, student-focused education that prepares students to excel in their fields of study and become leaders on a global stage. The programs are highly desirable and develop graduates that are highly recruited. The faculty members advance scholarly understanding and improve the professional practice of our disciplines through collaborative research and service.

Through experiential learning opportunities, from internships to study abroad programs, our students gain the professional skills to succeed and advance in today's global environment. Additionally, our professors enhance the learning environment by engaging and incorporating the business community into the classroom.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

The business administration program provides a broad background of practical business knowledge in the fields of sales, marketing, project management, operations, internships, and more. Bachelor level students can enroll in market-driven concentrations, minors, and certificates.

Program Description

The Bachelor of Business Administration focuses on the general study of business, including the processes of interchanging goods and services (buying, selling and producing), business organization, and accounting as used in profit-making and non-profit public and private institutions and agencies. This program prepares individuals to apply business principles and techniques in various occupational settings  and offers students the opportunity to “customize” their degree.

Career Opportunities

This concentration prepares students for a variety of career opportunities in the business community upon graduation. Some graduates pursue management training programs that prepare graduates for the challenges specific to a particular organization or industry. Other graduates pursue careers in hospitals, governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, or choose to start an entrepreneurial venture or join a family business. Due to the solid foundation provided by this curriculum, career opportunities are endless.

Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting

The accounting program provides a solid foundation in business, finance, and management. Bachelor level students are given a broad background of accounting classes to provide the basic tools to pursue an accounting career. Accounting graduates pursue careers in audit, tax, government, law, public service, and education, among others.

Program Description:

The accounting program provides significant exposure to courses in business, finance, and management, and is designed to give students an understanding of the theory of accounting as it is used in our society. Bachelor level students are given a broad background of accounting classes to provide the basic tools to pursue an accounting career. Should a student want to specialize in specific areas, he or she would need to pursue a Master of Accounting program that allows specialization in audit, taxation, or systems.

Career Opportunities:

The Knox School of Accountancy prepares students for careers as professional accountants in private, public, or governmental organizations. In addition to the pursuit of an accounting career, an accounting education provides excellent background for non-business professions such as law, and is helpful for advancement to top-level management. Students are highly encouraged to participate in internships and experiential learning opportunities to increase their marketability upon graduation.

Certificate in Hospitality Administration

Gain knowledge in one of the world’s biggest industries, hospitality, while understanding the core principles of management and marketing as they relate to hospitality.

Program Description:

The Certificate in Hospitality Administration provides students with the opportunity to gain foundational knowledge specific to the hospitality industry, then apply that foundational knowledge through experiential learning opportunities such as study abroad, study away, and internships.

Career Opportunities:

The Certificate in Hospitality Administration is a 15-credit hour program that prepares students for careers in the hospitality industry which includes hotel, restaurant, travel, museum and attractions, and sports and tourism. A certificate in hospitality administration prepares students with courses in management, marketing, operations, and event planning. Students completing an internship and participating in other experiential opportunities increase their marketability.
