Fall 2020 Weeks of Welcome Schedule!

Augusta University is excited to have you a part of Jaguar Nation! We invite you to participate in Weeks of Welcome (WOW) to prepare you for success during your time on campus. WOW is packed with a variety of events and activities to assist first year, transfer and returning students in making new friends, connecting to Augusta University resources, and getting involved in campus life. We encourage you to make the most of your time at Augusta University!


   

Welcome Brigade; New Student & Family Transitions

Date: Monday, August 10th

Time: Starting at 9:00 a.m.

Location: Summerville, Health Sciences, Forest Hills campuses, and Snapchat

Description: Welcome back to campus! Grab a cool drink and snack as you head to your first day of classes!

Tabling for U.S. Census/Voter Registration; Civic Engagement

Date: Tuesday, August 11th through Thursday, August 13th

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Location: Jaguar Student Center Lobby

Description: Stop by our table if you have any questions about voter registration or have not completed the 2020 U.S. Census.

Cultural Trivia Night; Multicultural Student Engagement

Date: Wednesday, August 12th

Time: 7 p.m.

Description: Join the MSE for a fun night of trivia! Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers. Detailed information will be availiable on the MSE website and the university calender.

Meet the Greeks Tabling & Trivia; Fraternity and Sorority Life

Date: Thursday, August 13th

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. & 6:30 (Trivia)

Location: Jsac Breezeway and Virtual (Trivia)

Live Chats with Career Services: Residency Prep and CV Questions; Career Services

Taste of Augusta; Student Life and Multicultural Engagement

Description: Come learn about the services that are offered on campus as well as in the community! This event will feature vendors from retail, health, food, entertainment, and religious institutions.

Description: Welcome Back Sophomores! Your first year is behind you and now...onto your second year! To commemorate this 1/4 completion milestone, join us at the "grab,go,get" table - GRAB some swag, GO to class and GET that degree!

Panhellenic Recruitment; Fraternity and Sorority Life

Description: Recruitment is a time for prospective new members to investigate the Greek community. Participating in recruitment will expose you to the wealth of opportunities waiting for you in one of the organizations. Each organization was founded on the principles of scholarship, leadership, service, and lifelong friendships. The week will begin with meeting your recruitment counselors and end with Bid day!

IFC Recruitment; Fraternity and Sorority Life

Location: JSAC/Hybrid

Description: Students who are interested in joining a fraternity will have the opportunity to participate in the IFC sponsored Recruitment Week. During this time, the fraternities will be hosting events for students to participate in so they can decide which one they would like to further their involvement. Students are encouraged to participate in all the events hosted by the fraternities to get a good feel for all three. These events will start with an IFC sponsored event and end with a bidding ceremony from one of the fraternities.
