Weeks of Welcome

Augusta University is excited to have you a part of Jaguar Nation! We invite you to participate in Weeks of Welcome (WOW) to prepare you for success during your time on campus. WOW is packed with a variety of events and activities to assist first year, transfer and returning students in making new friends, connecting to Augusta University resources, and getting involved in campus life. We encourage you to make the most of your time at Augusta University!

Freshman Convocation

Freshman Convocation is a welcome event hosted for incoming, first-year freshman to integrate them into the AU experience! Students will be welcomed by AU executive leadership, receive their class pin, take a class photo, meet the faculty and staff who work in their college, and participate in a college brunch. This is an exciting time for students to begin their legacy at AU, and the entire AU community will be there to support them!

Lake Day Cook Out

Hosted by Outdoor Recreation

Climb the tower, take on the challenge course, and experience everything The CORE has to offer. Whether you're a first-year student or returning to campus, this is a great opportunity to try something different, meet people, and start the semester with a little adventure. No experience is necessary, and our staff will provide all equipment and instruction. Free for all Augusta University students. Wear closed-toe shoes, bring a water bottle, and drop in anytime between 4:00 and 8:00 PM.

First and Second Year Experiences Book Clubs

The Office of First-and Second-Year Experiences will host four book clubs (TBA) that will run from Tuesday, September 1st through Friday, October 2nd. Book clubs are open to all students, and book clubs are five-weeks in length and each club meets once per week for one hour. Sign-up information will be posted on flyer in University Hall, and students will also receive outreach from our office to sign-up for the book of their choice; all participants receive a free copy of the book when they join!

Welcome Transfers Drop-in Lunch is offered to AU transfer students whose first semester at AU is fall of 2026. This event allows new transfer students the opportunity to connect with the Office of First- and Second-Year Experiences, other transfer students, as well as AU Community partners who will be tabling in the 3rd floor University Hall lounge for the transfer student resource fair. Transfer students may check-in at our office in University Hall 331 to grab their lunch and then participate in the resource fair.

National Voter Registration Day
