Augusta University is committed to the growth and development of both our students and our greater Augusta community. The Office of New Student & Family Transitions works to aid in the successful transition of all undergraduate students into both our academic and local community. This would not be possible without the support and participation from both internal and external partners. 

The Office of New Student & Family Transitions provides collaborative programming that facilitates the transition, engagement and retention of new undergraduate students and their families to the intellectual, cultural and social environment of Augusta University. Over the past year, we served over 2,000 incoming students and 4,500 families and supporters. Many of these students are local, and are excited to engage with partners throughout our River Region. Of our incoming students, a significant amount are coming from beyond the Augusta River Region, and we are excited to work with those who know our community best to welcome and familiarize students with our vibrant community. We aim to create memorable transition experiences, introducing students to both their new home and it’s surrounding city.

In 2023, we partnered with Destination Augusta to provide Authentic Augusta Experiences to all incoming students through our extended orientation program. Below is a comprehensive list of local partners who worked to make this a reality.
