Operatic Soprano Tonya Currier is an Associate Professor of Music, voice faculty member and the Director of the Augusta University Opera Ensemble. Ms. Currier’s past engagements include the role of the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, for the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Toledo Opera and NYC Metro Chamber Orchestra. Additional appearances include leading roles with opera companies such as Milwaukee, Fort Worth, Central City, Lake George, Augusta and Mississippi among others. She has been a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall in both the Duruflè and Faurè Requiems and the Rutter Mass of the Children. Other concert appearances include Mozart’s Mass in C Minor with the Milwaukee Symphony and Beethoven's Egmont Overture and Incidental Music with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
