Research Interests

My research expertise is in the sexual health disparities of adolescents and especially African American young women. Broadly, I am interested in understanding the relevance of sexual partner ideals, contextual factors (e.g., availability of potential partners) and sexual risk behaviors in contributing to the disproportionately high rates of STIs and HIV observed within this group. I am also interested on reducing human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and related disease and improving HPV vaccination.
