AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY DISTANCE EDUCATION STUDENTS

Assistance is available to Augusta University (Augusta University) health sciences faculty, staff, and students located at campuses away from Augusta or to students enrolled in Augusta University courses meeting the Board of Regents definitions : "Off-campus instruction is defined as traditional face-to-face classroom instruction that occurs at a location away from the home premises of the institution. Distance education is defined as a formal educational process in which the majority of the instruction occurs when student and instructor are not in the same place and the instruction is delivered using technology."

AU JagID authenticates AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES - OpenAthens Access

Your Augusta University JagID accesses Library resources through the OpenAthens access when away from the Augusta campus.

    • When selecting a subscribed Greenblatt Library database, ejournal, ebook, or clicking a Find It@Augusta University link, then OpenAthens access will request your Augusta University JagID username and password.
    • On verification of your Augusta University JagID, then Duo two factor authentication is required.
    • Contact Information Technology Services Services at 706-721-4000 for questions or needed assistance with Augusta University JagID or DUO authentication.

GRENBLATT LIBRARY ACCOUNT PATRON BARCODE

    • For Health Sciences campus students and medical residents, the PULSE (student) ID number is your Patron Barcode.
    • For Health Sciences campus faculty and staff, visit the Greenblatt Library Information Center desk with your Augusta University or GR Health System ID to register a Library account and receive a Patron Barcode.

From your borrowing account in the Library Catalog, you can:

    • Check due dates of borrowed items checked out to your account.
    • Renew some borrowed items before their due date.
    • Borrow GIL Express books from other participating University System of Georgia libraries when your borrowing account contains no overdue items or unpaid fines or fees.

Contact the Library Information Center desk 706-721-3441 for questions about your Greenblatt Library account.

GREENBLATT LIBRARY INTERLIBRARY LOAN

Consider using the Greenblatt Library's fee-based Interlibrary Loan service as a cost-effective method to obtain full-text documents not found by the “Find It@Augusta University” button or eJournal Navigator. Registering a personal Interlibrary Loan account to request articles the Library does not hold is completed online. The Interlibrary Loan staff may be contacted at 706-721-6374 to assist with initial registration or ordering/payment questions.

Because books ordered through the fee-based Interlibrary Loan service must be picked up and returned to the Greenblatt Library on the Augusta campus, book borrowing may only be ordered through GIL Express. Any library staff member may assist a distance education student in locating books from other participating University System of Georgia libraries in the GIL Express system at no cost. Distance education students participating in GIL Express book borrowing transactions must be able to pick-up and return books to a participating University System of Georgia library.
