Shannon Derthick is a professionally trained medical illustrator with undergraduate degrees in Physiology and Studio Art and a Master of Science in Medical Illustration. She specializes in anatomical and surgical illustration for a wide range of media and audiences. She has worked in various academic settings combining the roles of illustrator, photographer, teacher and designer. Now, she closely collaborates with the top neurosurgeons in Augusta, Georgia. On a daily bases, she utilizes her expertise in illustration, 3D sculpting, and design to create the work you see in the department!
