Entry Portfolio Gallery

This gallery highlights samples from applicant portfolios. They are organized into three galleries: hands drawings, figure drawings, and still life studies.

The portfolio is a vital component of the admissions process. We use the portfolio to assess a prospective student's prior artistic training and current abilities. The successful applicant's portfolio will clearly demonstrate advanced ability in drawing the human figure from observation.

  • Sound draftsmanship in rendering from direct observation, including expression of contour, proportion, perspective, form, light and shadow, tonal values, and surface textural detail
  • Accurate interpretation of color in realistic still life studies

The specific requirements for the Preview Portfolio and the Interview Portfolio can be found on the Admissions page of this website.

Links to the left will take you to three galleries which contain representative samples of the most important components in the successful applicant's portfolio.
