The Green Team is helping repurpose these bags which are:

  • durable and made of 3-ply brown paper
  • just the right size for yard waste and a similar size as the commercially available yard waste bags found at home improvement stores and garden shops
  • free

Free Yard Waste Bags Available

In keeping with GR's sustainability initiative, the Green Team is always looking for opportunities when it comes to recycling and repurposing. The Augusta University Research and Education facility discards empty paper bags used to ship bedding materials for animals. Approximately 100 to 125 of these bags are emptied weekly. A slightly smaller but sturdy animal feed bag is also available.

Who can get these bags?

Available to any GR enterprise-wide staff, faculty, or students

 

Where do I get these bags?

Available at no cost on a “First come, First Serve” basis.

    • GR's main recycling center in the BL Building alley behind the adult care hospital
    • stacked outside adjacent to the cardboard compactor - to the right of the compactor
    • delivered on Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9:00 AM
