The General Surgery Residency Program at the Medial College of Georgia at Augusta University offers five categorical positions each academic year. Applications are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). To be competitive, a score of 210 and above on the USMLE Step I is desirable. Completion of USMLE Step II is not required at the time of application. Three letters of recommendation from faculty/colleagues are required.
We sponsor only J1 visas. We do not require previous U.S. experience or set a minimum date from medical school graduation. We prefer not to set any specific requirements; please submit your application and it will be reviewed by the program director. ECFMG certification is not required at the time of application, but is required by the match. The yearly deadline for applications is February 1st.
