Students can opt to complete 4-week to 6-week clinical rotations in:
Rotations are at one of the SW Campus hospital partners or at private practices of clinical faculty.
During the specialty training students receive superb training from top physicians. Students also learn firsthand about rural communities such as Albany and surrounding underserved regions.
The MCG Southwest Campus boasts over 140 volunteer physician faculty members who are passionate about their teaching. Students are able to participate in real world medicine with a 1:1 attending to student ratio.
There are currently two Family Medicine Residency programs within the SW Campus:
Students have an opportunity to work with residents and attending physicians in these programs when scheduled at these hospitals. Hospitals in the SW Campus region have identified the need to increase GMEGrauate Medical Education in southwest Georgia, and there is great potential for expansion into other areas such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB-GYN and General Surgery in the near future.
