Paul Brock, MDWelcome to the NW Campus and congratulations on getting to this part of your journey.

Our campuses are situated at the foothills of the Blueridge Mountains with multiple lakes, rivers, and mountain trails to explore. The beauty of this part of the state is unparalleled and if outside activities and recreation are of interest to you this is certainly the place.

We are an inclusive group of educators whose goal is to support you in becoming the very best physician possible. We are a two-year campus starting after preclinicals and our student cohort is small allowing for significant personalized one on one attention.

We see your clinical years as a critical milestone thus our campus proudly promotes foundational knowledge acquisition, faculty engagement through extremely high level of mentorship and student advocacy. Our academics are fueled by three hospital systems, two of which are tertiary, a privately owned multispecialty clinic, and over 300 providers spread across almost every major discipline. Our faculty experience is broad enough that no student must leave our campus for any of their clinical rotations.

We have a Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum with each student having more than a thousand patient contacts all driven through a high touch mentorship model. Data has proven that this model leads to better retention of clinical knowledge and better testing overall.

Our campus has four primary care residencies IM, FM in both Rome, and Dalton. All of these are involved in the 3+ pathway to residency allowing students who qualify to go directly into residency after three years.

Our residency match is exceptional, and our students have gone into top residencies across the country. We have a large number of students declaring in surgical specialties with primary care and pediatrics also well represented.

We believe that there is no better place to become residency ready than the NW Campus Missions are a primary focus for our campus and a yearly international medical mission trip is part of our standing curriculum. We also target and treat the underserved and high-risk patients in our community through outreach programs. Housing is subsidized at a significantly reduced rate on the Berry College campus in Rome and free housing is offered in Dalton. All meals at the hospitals are provided at no cost to the student.

I hope the videos and testimonials to follow give you a real sense of this campus and the dedication of faculty and staff to your overall success!

Sincerely,

Paul B Brock, MD, FACS
