Research in the laboratories of VBC faculty is supported by several outside funding agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association. Fifteen current Core Faculty members of the VBC have one or more active research grants. On a per faculty basis or on a per square foot of laboratory space basis, VBC Core Faculty funding represents one of the highest levels of extramural funding. This includes funding received by any MCG Department or academic unit on any Augusta University campus or in the nation.
