Campus Overview

In addition, the Georgia Research Alliance has established several very useful Core Facilities on the Health Sciences Campus. These include the Molecular Biology Core Facility (DNA and protein sequencing, oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis, gene chip technology), the Transgenic Analysis Core Facility (analysis of transgenically altered animals), the Transgenic and Embryonic Stem Cell Mouse Core Facility (production of transgenic mice), the Histology Core Facility (histological analysis of tissue samples), the Cell Imaging Core Facility (fluorescence, confocal, and multiphoton microscopy), and the Flow Cytometry Core Facility (cell sorting).

These facilities are administered through the MCG Institute of Molecular Medicine and Genetics. VBC faculty and staff, like all other Augusta University faculty and staff, have equal access to the use of these Core Facilities.
