The radioactive sources are contained in double encapsulated stainless steel capsules. |

The capsules are Special Form Certified by the United States Department of Transportation. |

The radioactive material is in the form of cesium chloride and has a half- life of approximately thirty years. |

MCG Radiation Safety Personnel perform quarterly radiation dose rate surveys and semi-annual leak test surveys on the sources. |
