Dr. Patton received a PhD. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from the University of South Florida. His research focus lies in comparative cognition and neuroanatomy, with particular interest in the visuo-cognitive abilities of birds and the underlying neural mechanisms associated with these processes. As highly intelligent social animals, birds are an ideal model that can be compared to the brains of other social animals, including humans. Ultimately, this research will add to the growing knowledge of how brains evolve.
