Early Decision Program Guidelines


Pre-required Coursework:

Biology

  • One academic year** of Biology with lab. (Must substitute one academic year of advanced Biology courses with labs, if placed out of General Biology with AP credit.)

Chemistry

  • Two academic years of Chemistry during college including at least 3 semesters of lab, irrespective of AP chemistry taken in high school.
  • New requirement as of June 2017 - at least one semester of Organic Chemistry with lab and one semester of Biochemistry.

Physics

  • One academic year of Physics with lab.

English

  • One academic year of English or whatever portion in the academic year is required for the baccalaureate degree in an accredited college or university. (English-based composition, Writing, Literature or Communication also acceptable.)

Statistics

  • New requirement as of June 2017.
  • May choose Biostatistics.

Recommended Courses

  • Cellular Biology

  • Research

All required courses should be taken on a graduated grading scale when possible. A pass/fail type system should not be used.

AP credits are acceptable (with the exception of Biology and Chemistry) on the basis that the credits are accepted by an accredited college and appear on its official transcript.
