The African American Male Initiative (AAMI) is a leadership development program designed to cultivate the talents and abilities of African American male students to support their academic and future career goals. Our goal is to promote student success and improve graduation rates through social and academic networks. Through collaborating with university and community partners we intend to connect students with others to envision their future, to explore their passions, and to actively engage in their college experience.
The African American Male Initiative’s primary objective is to enhance your undergraduate experience. Our goal is to assist you to excel academically, socially, and professionally.
According to a university Student Engagement Interactive Report, students who seek campus involvement and participate in these initiatives tend to have higher grades and discover a greater sense of purpose within the university community. Students acquire life-long connections, networks, and skills to prepare them for their graduate and professional careers.
