The Division of Information Technology takes cybersecurity very seriously. Our Cyber Defense Department is in place to identify, protect, respond and recover from cyber-related incidents impacting Augusta University and the Augusta University Health System.
The Cyber Defense department provides training, education, and vital information about any current cyber threats to our enterprise. Remember, if you suspect a cyber threat, it’s better to report it immediately than to wait until it’s too late.

Keep ahead of the latest malware! Install updates as soon as you are notified so your computer or device is less vulnerable to cyber-attacks. This includes making sure to update your anti-virus software.
Phishing is when someone on the outside sends you an email to try and trick you into opening a file, clicking a link, or following instructions in order to steal sensitive information. If you don’t recognize it, don’t accept it and call us immediately.

Augusta University was recently recognized with the 2023 CSO50 Award, given to organizations and individuals for their exceptional cybersecurity and thought leadership contributions to the field.

As part of ongoing efforts to protect digital identities and Augusta University data, the Division of Information Technology, following guidelines and security protocols of the University System of Georgia and Augusta University, will enable multi-factor authentication on all AU-owned devices.
