Student Counseling and Psychological Services
- SCAPS offers telemental health appointments for routine treatment and emergencies.
We ask that all students interested in counseling services to call SCAPS at 706-737-1471 to schedule a triage appointment.
- Students who are experiencing an emergency, such as thoughts of hurting self or others,
experience of trauma, loss and grief, or difficulties with taking care of basic needs
such as food and shelter can call 706-737-1471 and ask to speak to a counselor on emergency duty. For after-hour emergencies, students and others who are concerned for a student should
call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225.
- United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) is offering an Emotional-Support Help
Line, through Optum, which provides access to specially trained mental health specialists.
The help line number, 866-342-6892, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for as long as necessary. The service
is free of charge to all students.
