On August 1, 2013, Augusta University became tobacco-free.

Tobacco-Free is Everybody's Business - It's a Shared Responsibility

All 31 colleges and universities in the University System of Georgia became tobacco-free October 1, 2014.

The use of tobacco products of any kind, including electronic-cigarettes (e-cigs) is prohibited on all university properties, including:

  • academic buildings
  • research buildings
  • clinical buildings
  • parking lots
  • green spaces

At Augusta University this includes satellite facilities such as our West Augusta practice site. The tobacco-free policy applies to employees, students, patients, visitors, and vendors.
