In 1991, David Guest advanced the concept of a "T-shaped professional." This concept encourages workers to cultivate the depth and breadth of their skills and knowledge in order to be prepared for opportunities in the workforce. Earning a degree or certificate is but the beginning of a person's preparation for a job.
Our sessions will focus on exploring the depth and breadth of your professional knowledge and skills, as well as 3 dimensions of your career: disciplines, sectors and regions you are able and interested in working in.

The Office of Leadership Development uses a 360 tool administered by a third party vendor, The Hay Group (aka Korn Ferry), titled the Emotional and Social Competency Inventory (ESCI) to provide meaningful feedback to AU and AUMC leaders striving to develop their talents and skills. Once the ESCI results are confidentially aggregated from supervisors, colleagues, peers, and direct reports into a final report, the participant will receive 2 hours of executive coaching from an external, certified coach.
