CPT William Myers was born on November 8, 1989, in Augusta, Georgia. He attended The Citadel and graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He commissioned in the Regular Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police Corps on May 4, 2012.
CPT Myers’ military education includes the Military Police Basic Officer Leadership Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Interservice Non-lethal Individual Weapons Instructor Course, Antiterrorism Level II, OPSEC Level II, Defense Threat Reduction Agency Joint Mission Assurance Assessor’s Course, US Army Individual Advisor Course, and the Military Police Captains’ Career Course.
His assignments include: Platoon Leader, 1st Platoon, 258th Military Police Company, Fort Polk, LA; Executive Officer, 204th Military Police Company, Fort Polk, LA; Force Protection and Antiterrorism Officer, United States Forces-Afghanistan; Assistant S3, 720th Military Police Battalion, Fort Hood, TX; and Company Commander, HHC 89th Military Police Brigade, Fort Hood, TX.
His contingency operations assignments include: Operation Enduring Freedom 2014 (Platoon Leader), Operation Freedom’s Sentinel 2017 (United States Forces-Afghanistan Force Protection and Antiterrorism Officer), and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel 2019 (Joint Task Force Parwan Detention/Training Officer).
His awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal with 1 OLC, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with 2 OLC, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award with 1 OLC, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal – Service, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal with 1 OLC.
CPT Myers is single. He has one brother, two sisters, and two loving parents.
