The Children’s Research Unit (CRU) was constructed in 2013 as a capital improvement project for the purpose of conducting primarily clinical and translational pediatric research within the Children’s Hospital of Georgia (CHOG).

We are designed to accommodate researchers and research participants. We serve as a first contact destination for designing research studies, assistance with IRB applications, literature reviews, and budget reviews. While the unit is primarily utilized by principal investigators, it is also available to all faculty, health sciences students, residents, fellows and students across the academic enterprise.

The Children’s Research Unit is a collaborative initiative of Augusta University and Augusta University Medical Center. The CRU is located on the 5th Floor of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia. The unit offers space and services for research participants and/or patients involved in clinical studies.

Greetings,

We welcome you to the Children's Research Unit located in the Children's Hospital of Georgia! The unit is the first of its' kind developed for children in our organization. The unit was designed to help bring studies and research from the bench to the bedside and ultimately promote better care for our patients. It will provide valuable, functional infrastructure to young as well as experienced faculty involved in preventative medicine research, behavioral change research and clinical trials.
