Approved program and undergraduate Core Curriculum updates requested via Curriculog are listed below by academic year.  A brief summary of all changes are listed by program.  The AU Catalog should be used for a detailed list of all required curriculum.

All 8000-level MS course numbers were updated to 7000-level course numbers and the 9000-level courses to 8000-level to meet the compliance requirement of the AU Course Numbering Policy.

The Language Arts concentration updated the required Area F courses to ENGL 2310, 2121, or 2122.

The Social Studies concentration now offers the options below when completing Major Content Concentrations: 

HIST 3111, HIST 3211, HIST 3431, HIST 3510, HIST 3020, HIST 3441, HIST 3491, HIST 3471, HIST 3321, HIST 3331, HIST 3341; HIST 4111, HIST 4211, HIST 4221, HIST 4411, HIST 4501, HIST 4491, HIST 4521, HIST 4421, HIST 4471 (if HIST 3711 wasn't taken); POLS 4930, POLS 3101, POLS 4902, POLS 4904

Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy Degree Completion for RRTS has been deactivated beginning Fall 2020.

PHIL 5004 was updated to PHIL 6004 as a Required Foundational Course.

Elective options were updated to the courses below:

ANTH 5851, 5870, FMPC 6001, 6003, HIST 6111, 6600, NURS 7223, PSYC 6191, SOCI 6436.

FMPC was added as an option when completing the Capstone. 

Certificate in Business Administration has been deactivated beginning Fall 2020.

Certificate in English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Endorsement was added as a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate.

Certificate in Filmmaking was added as a new Certificate of Less than One Year.

Certificate in Health Humanities was added as a new Certificate of Less than One Year.

Certificate in Theater Performance was added as a Certificate of Less than One Year.

COMM 1110 Public Speaking was added as an option in Area B: Institutional Options.

ENGL 2060 Introduction to Literature was added as an option in Area C: Humanities and Fine Arts.

ENGL 2131 American Literature I was added as an option in Area C: Humanities and Fine Arts.

ENGL 2132 American Literature II was added as an option in Area C: Humanities and Fine Arts.

MATH 2011 Calculus and Analytical Geometry I was added as an option in Area A2: Quantitative Outcomes.

MATH 2012 Calculus and Analytical Geometry II was added as an option in Area D: Natural Sciences.

MATH 2210 was renumbered to MATH 1401 by the University System of Georgia.  Since the new course, MATH 1401 is equivalent to MATH 2210 the courses will be counted the same in JagTrax.

Special Education was added as concentration option to the Master of Education with a major in Instruction.

PADM 6400 was added as an Elective option.

PADM 6435 was added as an Elective option.

Master of Science in Biological and Computational Mathematics was added as a new Graduate program.

Master of Science with a major in Biomolecular Science was added as a new Graduate program.

ANTH 1105 and ANTH 1105L Introduction to Biological Anthropology was added as an option in Area D: Natural Sciences for non-math/science, non-health professions majors.

The course number for Color Experience changed from from ART 3700 to ART 2700.  Additionally, the course was added to Area F.

The course number for Drawing II changed from from ART 2212 to ART 3212.  Additionally, the course was removed from Area F and added to the major requirements.

HIST 3060 was added as a required concentration course.

MUSM 3950 was added as a required concentration course.

The requirement for concentration electives (HIST 3020-4999) was changed from 18 credits to 15 credits.

EDUC 2120 was removed from the Teacher Education requirement and added as a required Area F course.

EDUC 2130 was removed from the Teacher Education requirement and added as a required Area F course.

Area F Electives were reduced from 12 credits to 6 credits.

The Molecular and Physiology Elective requirements were removed.  The requirement now requires four additional upper-division biology courses. At least three must come from the list of selected electives, and at least one of these Cell and Molecular electives must be a 4 credit hour course.

HINF 3316 was added as a Major Requirement.

HINF 3214 was removed as a Major Requirement.

HINF 4417 was replaced by the new course HINF 4418 

HINF 4104 was replaced by the new course  HINF 4107.

Bachelor of Science with a major in Health Promotion was added as a new undergraduate program.

CYBR 2600 was added as an Area F requirement and removed from Major Requirements.

NURS 8140, 8250, 8500, 8551 were added as options when completing Elective options.

POLS 2401 was added to replace INQR 1000 and COMM 1100.

Only 6 credits of non-SECR courses can be used to complete the Elective requirement.

PADM 6150 was added as a Major Requirement.

PADM 6435 was added as a Major Requirement.

PADM 6400, 6430, 6432, 6436 were added as an Elective option.

MGMT 6500 and QUAN 6600 were removed from Major Requirements and replaced by 6 credits of Required Electives.

 

Minor in Art Museum Studies is deactivated for Spring 2021.

FINC/ECON 4420 and ECON 4820 were removed as Major Requirements.

ECON 3105 and 3106 were added as Major Requirements.

Elective options now include the courses below:

POLS 3800 was removed and replaced with the option to take SOSC 3001, 3002, or 3003.
