Communications

Under the direction of CSO Supervisor Jennefer McKellar, Augusta University Police Department Communications Division is responsible for providing effective and efficient communication between people in the community requesting assistance and the Augusta University Police Officers that respond to calls. The Augusta University Communications Division takes calls from the Summerville Campus, Health Science Campus, and the Augusta University Medical Center. The goals of the Augusta University Police Department Communications Division is to efficiently and effectively handle every request for service promptly and courteously. The Communications Service Officers are efficient in both call taking and dispatching emergency personnel. The Communications Division is staffed by Communications Service Officers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Responsibilities 

  • Dispatching emergency personnel
  • Monitoring RAVE Guardian
  • Monitoring Fire Alarm Systems
  • Monitoring Security Alarm Systems
  • Monitoring Emergency Blue Phones
  • Coordinating mutual aid with other local law enforcement agencies
  • Initiating Blackboard Emergency notifications
