Music Conservatory Program

Spring 2018

The Spring 2018 season is scheduled to begin Monday, January 8, 2018.

Rehearsals continue each Monday from 7-9PM in the Fine Arts Center, room C-1, leading up to the semester concert.

The Spring 2018 concert is scheduled for Monday, March 26, 2018

There will be a required dress rehearsal on Sunday, March 25, 2018 


  1. To be in the Conservatory Wind Symphony, you must have been a member of the previous year All County, District, or All State Band (alternates accepted), or a member of the 2017 Conservatory Wind Symphony.
  2. If you don’t qualify with item #1, you must get a recommendation from your band director. You can have them email Kate Jenkins at
  3. You must be able to attend all rehearsals on Monday nights: 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Cases of extreme illness OR scheduled events with your high school band will be excused.
  4. IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN ANYTHING ELSE THAT WILL REQUIRE YOU TO MISS MORE THAN TWO OF THE SCHEDULED REHEARSALS, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THESE ABSENCES CANNOT OCCUR DURING THE LAST TWO SCHEDULED REHEARSALS. NOTHING, EXCEPT FOR EXTREME ILLNESS OR DEATH IN THE FAMILY SHOULD PREVENT YOU FROM PARTICIPATING IN THE PERFORMANCE. Please check the rehearsal dates and the date of the performance before you decide to accept admittance into CWS. You must be willing to reserve the rehearsal dates and the concert date on your calendar and schedule everything else around it. Exceptions to this would be conflicts with your school band. No other excuses, i.e. jobs, athletic events, participation in other clubs, church events, etc.



If you are interested in the first chair position in your section, or sitting higher in the section you must audition at the SECOND rehearsal on Jan. 29th (postponed from January 22nd)  If you do not want to audition you will be seated according to the information you supply on your registration form.

The tuition for participation in CWS is $85.00 per student. The tuition also includes a recording of the concert. There will be no admission charge for the concert. All questions pertaining to the tuition need to be addressed to the Director of the Augusta University Conservatory Program. 

CLICK HERE to pay the $85 fee online.  You can also pay with a check or with cash.  A check or cash can be placed in the "Conservatory Program" box in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center.  Checks need to be made out to "Augusta University" and please be sure the student's name is on the check.

Fees must be paid by Monday, January 22nd.  After January 22nd a $25 late fee will be added.  

Location and Concert information

Rehearsals take place in the rehearsal hall (room C-1) of the Fine Arts Center, located on the Augusta University Summerville Campus

2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA

The concert will be Monday March 26, 2018 7:30pm in the Maxwell Performing Art's Theatre.  It is free and open to the public.
