The Augusta University MPA program believes strongly in building communities. Through our community outreach efforts, we help local nonprofits and public agencies be more efficient, effective, and fair. Within our program, we offer students the opportunity to be involved with a number of student organizations. Through involvement in these organizations, students are able to network with their classmates and practitioners in the field, have access to valuable training, and provide input on the governance of the MPA program.

The Masters of Public Administration Student Association (MPASA) is the official student association for the Masters of Public Administration Program at Augusta University. The student organization is meant to enhance the student experience in the program, through connections with alumni and the community, as well as social events.
The purpose of the Masters of Public Administration Student Association (MPASA) is to organize, and facilitate activities beneficial to students of the Master of Public Administration program in serval areas including, but not limited to:

ICMA is the International City/County Management Association, which seeks to advance local governments worldwide.
The ICMA Student Chapters are intended to introduce and integrate students into local government and the management profession; additionally, ICMA student chapters introduce students with ICMA members, resources, and the Code of Ethics.
To create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management to build better communities.
Pi Alpha Alpha is the Global Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration Programs. Pi Alpha Alpha is run by NASPAA: The Global Standard in Public Service Education.
"I pledge my support for the intellectual and professional advancement of the art and science of public administration. I shall honor and respect the virtues and values of public service and those who serve. I shall uphold the eternal need for education that imbues public administrators with traditions of democratic governance. Moreover, as a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, I shall uphold the highest ethical standards applying to public service and will endeavor to encourage and engage in meaningful interaction with other members."
To date there are more than 160 chapters. Pi Alpha Alpha was established to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship in the field.
To qualify to join this elite group, you must have completed at least 18 hours of MPA coursework and have a GPA of 3.75 or higher in that coursework. Eligible students are invited to join in the early part of the spring semester.
The Augusta University Chapter inducts new members in May each year, just before graduation. The induction ceremony is a festive affair, that features food, fun, and the chance to share your accomplishments with family and friends. We hope you will be inspired to join us!
