Summer 2020 Accelerated BSN Deadline: Extended Dec. 20, 2019 (Augusta campus only)
The Accelerated BSN program is the same curriculum as our traditional BSN program but with a condensed 15-consecutive month course delivery and a Summer start date. This program is currently offered only on the Augusta campus.
The Accelerated BSN program provides students the knowledge, skills, and abilities to function effectively in all areas of nursing practice through quality instruction and clinical experiences. The program provides students the opportunity to apply didactic knowledge in a variety of hands-on and simulated clinical settings, and lays the groundwork for continuing one's professional education at the graduate level.
Upon successful completion of the BSN program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX) offered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Augusta University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
*Please note that the Accelerated BSN program is currently only offered on our Augusta campus.
Plan of Study
Undergraduate students can enter the BSN program as juniors upon completing the prerequisite coursework. Freshman or sophomores can be considered for the Nursing Scholars Program, which bridges into the traditional BSN program. A select number of students can be chosen for the Accelerated BSN program, which begins in the summer and lasts 15 months.
