As part of the OSMA Pipeline, the Pre-matriculation Program is a 6-week summer program for incoming medical and dental students who have been accepted at the Medical College of Georgia. The program is designed to help prepare students for the first year of health professional school. This intensive academic program focuses on content knowledge, skill development, networking and adjustment through a variety of courses, guest lectures, social activities, workshops, and hands-on activities.

Pre-matriculation is by invitation only! If you have been accepted to the Medical College of Georgia, be on the look-out for your personal invitation. Only students who qualify will be invited to the program.

Benefits of participating in Pre-matriculation include:

  • Intensive academic preparation through coursework in Gross Anatomy, Biochemistry, Histology/Development and Physiology (Dental students do not take Physiology)
  • Opportunities to learn from and interact with leadership and faculty through the Faculty Grand Rounds Lecture Series
  • Skill development focused on time and stress management, study skills, communication, inter-professional teamwork, etc. through interactive and experiential learning activities
  • Service learning opportunities focusing on local health disparities
  • Interactions with standardized patients

And much more!
