Dr. Patricia Morissette was appointed Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency program in 2020. She is passionate about resident wellness, creating a fruitful and safe learning environment for students and residents alike, and advocating for patient safety at every turn. Clinically, she is focused on providing compassionate, high quality care for patients, and enjoys teaching internal medicine core procedures.

She is a French-Canadian from Montréal, Canada. She attended John Abbott College where she was a goalie for the school’s ice hockey team while obtaining her Diplome d’études collégiales (DEC) in Science. She then attended Mcgill University in the heart of Montréal where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. During her time at Mcgill, she worked at a local physical therapy clinic as well as for the Mcgill Lacrosse team and Hockey team in the role of student trainer. 

She earned her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine and lived all over the U.S. during her clerkships. While in medical school, she was a peer-tutor for basic sciences as well as a Neuroanatomy T.A. She graduated with Highest Honors in 2016. 

She completed an intern year in General Surgery at Columbia University-Harlem Hospital, NY, NY. She then moved to Augusta and started her Internal Medicine residency here at MCG in 2017. She completed her residency receiving the “Resident of the Year” award. 

She began her career in academic medicine by joining the MCG faculty after residency as Assistant Professor, Hospitalist Medicine in 2020. She spends half her time as a hospitalist and the other half supervising the academic medicine teams. In her first year as faculty, she was presented the "Faculty of the year" award. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is a member of ACP. 

Currently, she enjoys watching the Habs play, snowboarding, food, traveling, and spending time with her two adorable cats as well as her loved ones.
