Luis Velasquez

Name:

Luis Velasquez, MD

Residency:

University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio

Medical School: San Martin de Porres University, School of Medicine

Hometown:

 Cusco - Peru

Hobbies:

 Soccer, cooking, hiking and chess

Interests in Pathology:

I love medicine and enjoy treating patients but what I like the most is looking for the actual cause of the disease and the science behind our current diagnostic methods. Pathology is the part of medicine where I feel very comfortable and willing to spend the rest of my life.

Reason chose Augusta University: I feel that being in this pace is a great opportunity to learn what I really love, Surgical Pathology. Great attendings and an amazing environment.

Served for one year as general physician in a rural underserved native community from the Peruvian rain forest (Amazon jungle), taking care of more than 1000 individuals of all ages. It was one of the strongest and most challenging episodes of my life.
